Andrew D. Thorburn has more than 21 years of security technology and staff services strategy and implementation experience. In recent years, Andrew has facilitated independent consultancy support under ICARAS Consultants Principal James Yearsley and – more recently – as Enterprise Security & Risk Manager for Anixter technology solutions distributor, Atlas Gentech.
Andrew regularly contributes to the profession through voluntary sector leadership, development and delivery of subject matter to special interest groups, such as the New Zealand Security Association (NZSA), (ISC)2 and ASIS International, in addition to contributing thought leadership pieces for industry online and print publications. He is the Head Judge for the 2023 IFSEC Global Influencers in Security, immediate past ASIS International Chapter 148 Chairperson (2019), and was awarded Security Consultant of the Year at the New Zealand Security Industry Awards in 2018.
