Dr Layla Branicki is a Lecturer in the Department of Security Studies and Criminology at Macquarie University, Sydney. She is an interdisciplinary researcher specialising in individual and organisational resilience and the factors that enable people and businesses to cope with high risk work and extreme events. Layla was previously a Lecturer at Birmingham Business School and the Resilience Research Fellow at Warwick Business School. She has a strong track-record in winning and delivering funded inter-disciplinary research, and was a co-investigator on the first major UK project to examine the existing capacity of organisations, and networks of organisations, to manage emergencies.
