NZ Defence Industry Association to host physical-virtual meet-up

The New Zealand Defence Industry Association (NZDIA) will be hosting its July Member Meeting both online and in-person – in Auckland and Wellington – via its breakthrough Hopin virtual event platform.

Scheduled for 23 July, the event will be the first NZDIA members meeting to utilise the simultaneous in-person and online format.

In addition to in-person events in Wellington and Auckland, member organisations unable to attend physically will have the opportunity to attend a digitally via the Hopin digital conferencing software.

The powerful Hopin tool allows individuals to watch presentations, live chat with attendees and presenters, visit sponsor booths to connect with industry representatives, and network face-to-face with other attendees. Topics for the event include:

  • Update on the Ministry of Defence (MOD) Technical and Support Services Panel RFP
  • MOD and New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) Procurement Update and Q&A
  • MOD Industry Engagement and Project Updates
  • NZDF Industry Engagement Update including the Trans-Tasman Innovation Event
  • Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment (MBIE) update on Procurement Rules and assistance for Industry
  • New Zealand Trade & Enterprise (NZTE) new support for industry from the 2020 Budget
  • MBIE Apprenticeships – additional support for Industry
  • Defence Employer Defence Council (DESC) update
  • Defence Industry Advisory Council (DIAC) and Trans-Tasman Activity during lockdown, supporting industry
  • Networking opportunities connecting Defence and Industry.
